6 Years Already?!?

This month, this week, Mike and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! As predicted I am going to ask where did the time go? On one hand it feels like we've always been together and on the other I can't believe we share 8 years of history, 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cars and a house together. Yikes that's alot of sharing. Not only did we celebrate our anniversary but the following day was Mother's Day...so I had a great weekend.

Mike's gift to me (besides breakfast in bed) for both days was a new cell phone which I had been coveting. Rooney's (and Ailbe's) Mother's Day gift to me was a beautiful glass heart which Rooney helped blow. AMAT set up an event for dads and kids at a local glass shop called Uptown Glass Works where kids could help make either a glass heart or flower for their moms. The results were some really cool gifts and all the moms loved them. Rooney seemed particularly proud that he made his red and blue because red is his favorite color and blue is mine (he decided that).

Aunt Annie (Nannie) and Cuyler watched the kids while Mike and I went to our favorite restaurant, Mediterranean Kitchen, for dinner. Mike got Band Hero as his anniversary gift so when we got home we played several hours of that with Annie and Cuyler. That was nice. Sunday, my sister and I took my mom for lunch at Five Guys and pedi's which rounded out a great weekend.

Rounding Out April

April proved to be a pretty chaotic month for us. Grandma Peggie moved to the PNW, Ailbe turned 6 months, I ran 2 5k's and Rooney started Swim Camp at the end of this month.

Swim Camp is through the country club and it runs everyday (what was I thinking?!?). We signed him up for all 4 weeks and the idea is that Swim Camp should get him ready for Swim Team which starts at the end of May. Since Rooney is in the Itty Bitty's he will only work on Freestyle swimming but the bigger kids are supposed to learn a new stroke every week. Roon loved swimming so much I thought he would really like this and it would be a chance for him to earn some sort of trophy or ribbon. He has talked about getting one here and there, sometimes very passionately. Plus, since we signed up for the summer swim membership, I thought Rooney having strong swimming skills would really help mom at the pool since Ailbe will be of crawling age. We'll see if all my planning pans out or just becomes a big pain in the keister.

The weather has not exactly been ideal the later half of April. Rooney has had to swim in the rain several times. Not so bad for the kids since the pool is heated but the parents are all huddled underneath the overhang watching the kids. Spring weather is always crazy in the PNW and it can be pouring buckets in the morning and then summer beautiful in the afternoon. We've had alot of those days this month and despite always having a place to sit I try to make sure to get the kids out into the sun as much as possible.

Here's a few random photos from April:
