Dante's Inferno

Last night we had a couple of firsts happens.  We haven't had any firsts in awhile but I guess they need to happen every once in now and again.  Last night we rushed Rooney to the ER due to a high fever and last night Rooney slept in our bed.

After weeks of a dry cough and a previous stint last week with a lower fever Rooney came back full force last night with a fever of 104.3 (taken in the arm pit).  I had previously read when taking a temp in this fashion to add 1 degree which meant he had a temp over 105!  I am not one of those moms that rushes my kid to the MD every time they have a sniffle but with such a high temp I was a little freaked out and decided to call our mobile nurse.  After alot of  Q & A and poking & prodding on Rooney she told us to take him to the ER right away.  I gave Rooney some Motrin, packed Ailbe's bag, got some snacks and we all trekked down to the hospital.

Turns out by the time they took his temp it dropped 4 degrees and he was definitely feeling better.  By the time the MD came to check him out he was wanting to hit the hospital restaurant and by the time the MD cleared him and basically just told us how to manage the fevers, Rooney was telling knock knock jokes.  Before we could leave Rooney had to take some Tylenol and here came the only ugly point in our night.  Roon does not like cherry flavored Tylenol and has shown me this by throwing it up.  After many pleas, no thank you and attempts not to take the wretched syrup Rooney finally got it down...then brought it right back up.  Once again proving that you can lead a horse to water, you can make him drink but you can't keep him hydrated.  Before we left Rooney's temp was down to 96.2.

Later that night he got another fever of 103 (under the arm) and was obsessed with going to the bathroom.  After being up from 3 to 4am with various kid isssues (Ailbe was also involved in these shenanigans) Mike and I decided to divide and conquer so we could all get sleep.  Mike took Ailbe to the basement and I brought Rooney into my bed where he spent the rest of what I believe was his first ever night and hopefully last.

Forced Family Time

On Monday Ailbe turned 9 months old. This was a big day and we celebrated by staying home watching PBS Kids all day.

Rooney and Ailbe both came down sick and were equally pathetic. Rooney has had a recurrent cough for a couple of weeks but seemingly felt fine otherwise. Ailbe has a cold but no real fever just a lot (I mean a lot!) of snot. Sunday night Rooney got a fever and slept from early evening through the night. Number one sign a kid is sick...they sleep without being prompted. By morning the fever was gone and he was full of pep again but the rule is keep 'em away from other kids for 24hrs after the fever goes away and that's exactly what we did. Unfortunately we missed a beautiful day and a really cool trip to Ballard Locks because of it. Ailbe on the other hand had been playing with her ears when she was tired but was still a sweet baby so although I suspected an ear infection I wasn't really sure. Thankfully her 9 month well check was on Tuesday and we found out she had a double ear infection. What a trooper! Brings a little tear to my eye that she could tough out the discomfort without a peep. A little trick she's learning from her dog brothers I suppose. This is her second ear infection. The MD assured me this was well below the norm but I still don't like it. I don't think Rooney has ever had one and I hate the idea of the kids having to take antibiotics so young. I do know it was necessary though. Her eyes and her nose seemed to be getting infected as well and she has already had one resistant bacteria in her eyes.

Before I move on I'll post Ailbo's 9 months stats. Drum roll...she is measuring in at 28-1/4" in length, a slight 19lbs & 0.5oz and her head is a little less petite at a staggering 17". That makes her percentiles 75%, 55% and 25% respectively and it just means she is growing perfectly.

By Wednesday everyone was feeling better and the weather was warm so we broke out Rooney's Slip N Slide. We invited April over and Brooke and Cole from next door came over and the kids have what Rooney called "A Slip N Slide Party". It was a great afternoon and the kids played for 3hrs in the front yard. Just as I finished packing everything up Mike came home. Too bad he missed all the Slip N Slide fun. Maybe we could have convinced him to take a little trip down. Some of my best memories still are when we hit got to go down the Slip N Slide when I was a little younger than Rooney. My mom made us all a DVD of it this Christmas. Maybe I'll post that to YouTube one of these days. Anyway I digress. Wednesday turned out to be a fabulous day because after dinner that night Mike, Rooney, Ailbe and I went to the pool for the last hour before it closed. We almost had the place to ourselves and just had alot of fun playing together as a family.

Unfortunately as of late last night Rooney got a fever again and is being pretty pathetic today. We are missing yet another awesome event due to illness...Caspar Babypants! Rooney didn't know we were going so he's not heartbroken yet. Thankfully I'm pretty sure they will be playing again soon.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

Running a moms group is great. The kids (hopefully) learn a lot of wonderful social skills, meet many new friends and become very familiar with the library system. Since we have events everday, and most days several in one day, the kids are exposed to some really cool new experiences but there are some things a group of moms generally just won't do and today Rooney got to do one of those...fishing!

Another great thing about running your own moms group (or should I say co-running?) is that you can say who can join and that someone doesn't necessarily need to be a mom. Several months ago we admitted into our group our first stay at home dad. There was a little controversy about having him join, or at least the fear of there would be, but this dad has really become an active member and adds a great new dimension to our group. But another wonderful thing about having a dad in the group is that he is able to bait a hook!

We had a great day fishing yesterday at a local fishing hole. There are a couple u-fish type places around here and I know several moms who have taken their kids there but I am happy that Rooney got a little taste of actual fishing yesterday with someone who actually knew what he was doing and honest about the "sport". Once the excited of Ken and Rooney baiting the hook and casting the line (that's what its called right?) was over Ken told Rooney "now the rest is boring". Honestly I think if it were just a bunch of moms at a u-fish we would have tried to keep the excitment of the moment up and there would have been a lot of great picture moments. That didn't necessarily happen here and even though Rooney tried to reel something in (he caught alot of pond weed) I think quickly he did find it to be boring.

Most of the kids didn't catch anything but Rooney did get the much needed experience of poking a dead fish with a stick and being scared by his friends with said dead fish. Those are memories you can't fake.

"Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!"

I was being really sneaky I thought and back dating posts so I kept everything in time but I got behind on that as well so let's just start over and hopefully I can add some back dated posts to fill in any blanks. Ailbe is almost 9 months old now. She has started crawling. She was crawling fantstic for over a month...backwards. Just in the last week she is able to go forward. I caught some of it on video to prove to Mike that she could do it. As you may recall from many a blog post Mike never believes when one of the kids hits a new milestone. Pip really seems to want to stand though. I think she figured out how to back herself up into the sit position by accident when trying to stand. She gets all the way up into the Downward Dog position but can't quite get to the next step. That's OK with me. I'm not quite ready for a walker yet.

Rooney is now on Swim Team. We go to practice just about every day and now that the weather has suddenly got alot warmer it is also suddenly alot more pleasant. Rooney hasn't really seemed to notice but it is much nicer sitting on the chaise lounge in the sun then huddling underneath the overhang while watching him swim. He seems to love his coaches Brendan and Eric. They're just high school kids but Brendan seems to keep the kids in line and they have a good time while at practice. The swim meets can be a little time consuming and I am very thankful right now that Roonster is only on the Itty Bittys. This group is just exhibition races and they don't keep time. Unfortunately I do not think he will earn any awards and they just collect Airheads at the end of each race instead of ribbons like the other classes.

There have been tons of things going on here. Grandma and Grandpa Wade just came for a visit and we finally made it to Remlinger Farms while they were here. We had a great day and Rooney is already asking to go back. It didn't hurt matters that we met up with Charlie and his family there. If Felix would have been there I think it would have been Rooney's best day ever! The weather has been hot so we've been hitting the pool for fun over the last week. We discovered that Ailbe loves the water so maybe we'll have another little swim team member in the making. The pool has been nice because we can bring our friends and we were able to get Aunt Annie a caregiver membership so I can have a little help with the kids. Thankfully Aunt Annie likes to swim.

Mike and I have been constantly working on the yard(s)...weather permitting. Since April we have been working on the front yard ripping out the old plants and putting in grass. Just recently we were able to add bark after 3 years of debating about it. Finally I won and it looks pretty nice if I do say so myself. This weekend we are prepping for "dog fence". With having 2 kids we really felt we needed to break up our backyard into "kid side" and "dog side" so we can go tell the kids to play outside without fear of what they might bring back in on their feet. Courage and Rocco will get a nice dog run behind all the foliage in the back plus about 1/3 of the actual yard. There is a lot of work needed back there but the fence is taking number 1 priority this summer. Little by little. One day, when the kids move out, we'll get it just the way we want it.

It's Starting To Look Alot Like Summer

I decided to try to catch up on my blog posts. I often do this by backdating posts and remembering the stories by looking through the pictures I've downloaded. When I was looking through June's pictures I just noticed that we were pretty busy with cool activities and that my phone was pretty new so I was snapping alot of pics. I decided that I am going to recap June in one post and go through the fun stuff we got to do.

June 3rd/4th: We didn't go on any cool adventure these days but Ailbe discovered that she could get up on her knees in preparation for crawling. She also discovered that her tongue can hang outside her mouth and she let it spend a great deal of time there.

Kaibre recovering from her unexpected swim
June 7th- Waterworks Gardens: This park was a bit of an adventure to find.  It is hidden in Renton next to a treatment plant without very visible signage.  The park was very cool and interesting.  They combined art with treatment storm water which results in a beautiful and calm spot in a noisy, industrial area.  The kids had a pretty good time and Rooney's friend Kaibre took a tumble into one of the ponds.  She thought the marshy pond water was solid and stepped right into a pond that was about a foot deep.  The kids all learned a valuable lesson that day: look before you leap.  I feel like they've already been taught that lesson before but maybe it just needed to be revisited.  Kaibre eventually borrowed some dry clothes and she was as good as new.  Good thing about hanging out with a group of moms is that when something like this happens someone will have what you need.
Rooney and Lily chilling out in the Grotto

June 12: BBQ at the Howard's in honor of Cousin Becky's visit: This week my cousin Becky visited from Minnesota.  Although she was born and raised in Illinois, she has lived in Minnesota for several years and now considers herself a 'sotan.  It was great to reconnect with her.  Since my family lived in CA for the first 1/2 of my life we weren't able to form close bonds with a great deal of our family that lived back East.  Becky was alot of fun and effortlessly fit into our family.  Rooney and Felix weren't shy at all with her and pounced on her the first chance they got.  We're so glad she chose to come visit and for a brief time Mike didn't have to feel so alone while she was here.  They were able to speak their secret 'sotan language and kept us all guessing.

June 15th: Caspar Babypants concert and Sierra's Fish and Pets Tour: Wow what a great day this was!  Rooney and the kids got to rock out to their man Caspar Babypants in the morning and then tour some furry and scaly friends at Sierra's Fish and Pets.  Caspar rocked as a one-man show and Rooney got to get down with his interesting dance moves.  I have some video but decided to not post it thinking of his teenage years.  At the pet store tour the kids got to hold a bunny, lizards, a rat,  guinea pig and Rooney came home deciding he would like a chameleon as a pet.  He keeps asking for one for his 5th birthday.  The kids were also allowed to pet a snake but Rooney chose just to look at it with his eyes.  This was a fun day.

June 17th- Museum of Flight: This museum is one of our favorite places to visit.  For a kid Rooney's age there is so much information and so much to absorb that the trips never get boring.  The section on Space seems to be his favorite and he especially likes to visit the section of the space station they have there.  Once we've gone through all the space exhibits we like to hit the floor with the planes/jets.  This part of the museum is great for Ailbe because there is alot of space for her to crawl/roll around.  There is also a section of plane from the 70's.  I can't remember exactly but it might be a 747 or whatever the equivalent is that Boeing made.  I get really upset everytime I go in this exhibit because the amount of leg, seat and aisle room we used to get has to be double what we get now.  I walk off disgusted and vow to never fly again in rebellion. Lucky for me we can't afford to go anywhere so I don't have to betray my morals.  After touring the floor with the all the cool planes/jets we'll head to the control tower where Rooney can listen in on actual pilot conversations with the control tower, watch planes & helicopters as they land at Boeing Field and find Momma's car in the parking lot.  So far he's 2 for 2.  They recently redesigned the control tower and they have some cool little exhibits in the hallway.  One of the little exhibits even talks about the first bird Archaeopteryx of course.  Did you know that Archaeopteryx means "ancient wing"?  I didn't either but I see the correlation with the Museum of Flight now.

June 23rd- Coulon Beach: Finally we are getting some summer weather.  I've been worried since we got our summer swim membership at the pool we have not really been able to use it up to this point (other than swim team) but with the weather reaching the high 70's it was time to cool off.  Rooney has been asking since January about going to the beach so we gathered up Grandma and headed out.  It was a nice afternoon.  Rooney built sand castles and Ailbe got her first mouthful of sand.

June 24th- Earthworks Park: Every once in awhile it takes a visitor or some other pressing matter to get you to visit places in your own backyard.  While I was working on the Active Moms and Tots calendar I was feeling pressured to find an interesting new place that was outside and preferably free.  We've hit most of the local parks time and time again but as I scoured I came across Earthworks Park.  What a great park!  I cannot say enough about how cool this park is and how much fun the kids had that day.  The kids played in a creek for a good half hour then moved to the lake where a whole Lord of the Flies thing was happening.  They skipped rocks on the water, found sticks to poke things (and possibly each other) with and they got to jump over inlets of water.  There was a big stage built into the park.  I'm not sure if they hold shows there or used to but the boys used it as wrestling ring. Next the boys moved on to some of the cool artistic features built into the park but really they just saw it as a big hill and knew they needed to roll down it.  It was a great afternoon and the kids had a ton of fun, real fun.  I picture Rooney and Felix playing here for some reason.  One of the kids said the best thing.  When he arrived at the park he noticed right away that there was no "playground" and was unhappy about this.  He thought he was going to be bored.  Midway through the day he turned to his mom and asked if they could come back again with their swim trunks (because the kids got all wet from the water).  Once again before leaving he asked to come back.  As Mike would say "impressive".

That wraps up June.  What a great month.

6 Years Already?!?

This month, this week, Mike and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! As predicted I am going to ask where did the time go? On one hand it feels like we've always been together and on the other I can't believe we share 8 years of history, 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cars and a house together. Yikes that's alot of sharing. Not only did we celebrate our anniversary but the following day was Mother's Day...so I had a great weekend.

Mike's gift to me (besides breakfast in bed) for both days was a new cell phone which I had been coveting. Rooney's (and Ailbe's) Mother's Day gift to me was a beautiful glass heart which Rooney helped blow. AMAT set up an event for dads and kids at a local glass shop called Uptown Glass Works where kids could help make either a glass heart or flower for their moms. The results were some really cool gifts and all the moms loved them. Rooney seemed particularly proud that he made his red and blue because red is his favorite color and blue is mine (he decided that).

Aunt Annie (Nannie) and Cuyler watched the kids while Mike and I went to our favorite restaurant, Mediterranean Kitchen, for dinner. Mike got Band Hero as his anniversary gift so when we got home we played several hours of that with Annie and Cuyler. That was nice. Sunday, my sister and I took my mom for lunch at Five Guys and pedi's which rounded out a great weekend.

Rounding Out April

April proved to be a pretty chaotic month for us. Grandma Peggie moved to the PNW, Ailbe turned 6 months, I ran 2 5k's and Rooney started Swim Camp at the end of this month.

Swim Camp is through the country club and it runs everyday (what was I thinking?!?). We signed him up for all 4 weeks and the idea is that Swim Camp should get him ready for Swim Team which starts at the end of May. Since Rooney is in the Itty Bitty's he will only work on Freestyle swimming but the bigger kids are supposed to learn a new stroke every week. Roon loved swimming so much I thought he would really like this and it would be a chance for him to earn some sort of trophy or ribbon. He has talked about getting one here and there, sometimes very passionately. Plus, since we signed up for the summer swim membership, I thought Rooney having strong swimming skills would really help mom at the pool since Ailbe will be of crawling age. We'll see if all my planning pans out or just becomes a big pain in the keister.

The weather has not exactly been ideal the later half of April. Rooney has had to swim in the rain several times. Not so bad for the kids since the pool is heated but the parents are all huddled underneath the overhang watching the kids. Spring weather is always crazy in the PNW and it can be pouring buckets in the morning and then summer beautiful in the afternoon. We've had alot of those days this month and despite always having a place to sit I try to make sure to get the kids out into the sun as much as possible.

Here's a few random photos from April:

Pea (Heads) And Carrots

Ailbe is 6 months old now! Where did the time go? Months definitely seem to be moving much quicker with Ailbe than they did with Rooney. I'm sure it's because I have a 4 year old keeping me very busy and Ailbe's little moments get lost in the shuffle. As of right now Pip (my new nickname for her) does not have a nap time and still pretty much sleeps on the go. She generally has a chance to go down at home in the morning but that nap is pretty short. I can usually just get a run in and Ailbs manages to wake up just as I'm finishing. She is good to me like that but bad to my abs because I normally give up the crunches and planks I had planned to do to go get her. You win some, you lose some I guess.

Pip had her 6 months well check today. She's overall healthy but we found out she had the beginning of an ear infection. She has been fighting any eye infection and according to the MD it is very common for an eye infection to be accompanied by an ear infection. He said what was unusual was that you could not tell she had one by her demeanor. Ailbs is such a sweet baby and even though she had been teething, fighting an eye infection and apparently an ear infection she was still smiley and happy to see the MD (later her love for the nurse would fade). Of course after her flirtfest with the MD she got her shots- 4 of them from the nurse plus she poked her foot to get blood to test her iron levels! I walked in the MD office with a happy little baby and walked out with a happy little pin cushion.

Ok now for her stats...Ailbe came in at a whopping 26-3/4" long. That puts her in the 80th percentile. She's no little peanut anymore. She weighs 16lbs 3oz and she's in the 50th percentile for weight. Everyone seems shocked by that but I think it's because her thighs and cheeks throw everyone off. She's got little hamhocks but that's about it. Finally her head circumference. Pip's head is measuring in at an astounding 16-1/4" and that puts her in the pea headed 15th percentile! She does not look like a pea head but I don't know if most kids normally have a really large head and then just grow into it. I've seen kids with enormous globes but I don't know if that is more common or just unfortunate. Maybe Ailbs cheeks help balance out her look. Rooney mostly came in at 50th percentile so obviously my kids aren't getting their dad's noggin (hee hee just kidding baby) and there's no joke there about Uncle Andy because they're not actually related. Grandma Peggie has been known to have a "petite" head and she's whip smart so fortunately or unfortunately there's no joke in there about brain capacity either. Regardless I love my tall scrawny headed kids.

Next up should be sitting up. At least I know she won't have to worry too much about counter balance.

Grab Your Parkas Because Hell Just Froze Over

Yesterday Grandma Peggie has moved to town! It took 13 years but she finally packed all her stuff, including the dried up tube of Crazy Glue and burned out Christmas lights, and landed in North Renton. She got a great 5 bedroom house about a block away from mine and Mike's old house. Now everytime we go to Grandma's I point out to Rooney where we used to live. I tell him that someone else lives there right now but that we still own it then I can't help but say "Ugh, it really needs a paint job". It's nice to be back in the old neighborhood though and my mom being there helps me feel reconnected.

Before Grandma arrived we all helped her out a little bit with the house. Jim met with the contractors to make sure some furnace work was done and installed a few things to make sure it passed inspection. For her birthday, Dana and Renae taped and primed the red rooms they knew she would want to paint once she got there. Also, the house was vacant for a least a year probably, so the yard needed some attending to. They made a huge dent in some yard clean-up for her. Mike and I wanted to surprise her and give her some sort of housewarming gift. If you saw the two PODS my mom moved up here with you would know that she has everything, so we thought we would make sure she had some essentials she would need for once she landed. Originally my idea was to stock her fridge with some basics and get a few things we thought she would need for the house. However, unlike most houses here in the PNW, I later realized she did not have a fridge so we had to change direction. We decided to get her house essentials such as tp, paper towels, some cleaning supplies, shower curtain, shower curtain rings, liner, trash can, favorite coffee etc. I really thought this would be great and she wouldn't have to worry about this stuff...well wouldn't you know it the woman that has everything actually brought everything with her! She packed alot of those essentials in her truck! I thought I got the scoop on what she was bringing but I guess not. Oh well the thought was there and now she won't have to worry about that stuff for just a little bit longer.

Accompanying my mom on her drive up was my younger brother Casey. Casey used to come up alot in the summer but once he became an adult it became hard for him to get away as much and we really haven't seen very much of him. The last time he was up was the Thanksgiving after Rooney was born so it was great to see him again, even if it was only for 1 or 2 days. My mom is really lucky that he came because as they rolled into town they realized there was something wrong with moms truck. Technology is a great thing and after Casey diagnosed the problem on the road, Mom and Casey were able to look up an auto parts store, order the part and arrange for pick up the next day all via the phone. Casey and Dana fixed Mom's car the next morning and 17 years later (or is it 15?) her truck is still rolling.

So now Grandma is here. We're going to let her settle in. I did say she got a 5 bedroom house but she actually has enough furniture for 9. She has some unpacking to do, but once she's all settled and comfy let the babysitting begin!

Movers, Shakers, Teethers and Eaters

April has been a busy month. Ailbe now has two teeth which means it's time to get her on the food. As it is she stares longingly at what we're eating so with the appearance of her choppers I decided to bust out her highchair and get some rice. The first attempt did not go so well. You may have seen the video on Facebook and if you haven't check it out because I can't seem to get it reposted. Imagine the whole video looking something like this:

It's been 4 years since I've had to introduce foods and to be honest I don't remember all the rules. I briefly read the side of the rice box and then just slapped some formula and rice together. I don't recall Rooney ever having an issue with the consistancy but Ailbe seems a little more particular. She loves food now, even peas! We think she's working on a couple more teeth but they haven't cut through yet. So far, so good and she's still as sweet as ever. We've only used about 3 teething tablets. Hopefully we'll stay on this streak through the molars.

Rooney is still doing swimming and karate. Swimming has recently taken the forefront since we registered him for swim team starting in June. He has graduated to another level in swimming lessons and is now on Youth Level 3. My understanding is that there are only 5 youth levels then he would go to adult level. I'm not exactly sure what that means but he's doing pretty well. The other boy in his class is 8 years old and there are some differences but Roon is holding his own pretty well. He's such a goofball normally but while doing his lessons he seems to be all business. After the first day of class he said to me "Whew, I worked hard during that class".

Speaking of working hard...I ran my first 5K yesterday since having Ailbe. In February I got my old running coach to do a Couch to 5K class here in Renton. A handful of moms I know did the class with me and a few of us ran the Seahawks 12k/5k at The Landing. It was a great day and the race started at a reasonable hour. Mike, Rooney and Ailbe came out to support their mom. It felt great getting back into it and we are already planning our next 5K for the end of the month.

Run Baby Run

There are alot of great things about being a stay at home mom but I think one of the best must be sharing great experiences with your kid on a near daily basis. It's probably because of the moms groups we've been a part of and formed but we have really been able to do some fun things and discover some even more awesome things. One of those "things" is Caspar Babypants. We discovered Caspar through the library system and now we've become groupies following him from library to library. What is great about Caspar is that even though this is "kids music" I enjoy the songs. Caspar himself fronts the band The Presidents of the United States of America, but in that band his name is Chris Ballew. If you are familiar with their songs than you would probably love Caspar too because they're not that different. Caspar's might have a little less electric.

It's nice to share music we can rock out to together. Check out this video of Rooney dancing. He's the blond boy in the red shirt.

Easter Eggapolooza

Easter came up on us fast this year. Of course before we had kids we had tons of time to prep for holidays but now it seems with kids we are scrambling to squeeze in all the traditions. Last night we colored Easter eggs. Everyone got into the act including Ailbe. She made sure to dress for the occasion. Rooney, of course, did most of the decorating but he ventured out of his comfort zone this year and used colors other than blue. I don't think his hands should be stained for more than a day or two. And truthfully what kids aren't?

Rooney got to do two egg hunts this year. AMAT put on an egg hunt for the kids on Friday. That was a great turn out and some kids found candy. Not Rooney but that is almost wasted on him anyway. He won a set of stamp markers...yay for Mom! I'm being sarcastic. He was jazzed and I thought this would have been good practice for his Sunday morning egg hunt...

there is another 9 minute video of the same hunt. Should have got Ailbe into the fun, babies find everything, but alas she was still sleeping. Good baby.

She's Got Legs And She Know How To Use Them

Before Ailbe got too big and the little stress balls went away, we wanted to make sure to post some pics of Ailbe's legs. They are real conversation starters and just like Charmin everyone wants to squeeze. Hopefully when she's older Ailbe will appreciate these photos posted for the sake of posterity.

She did it!

Ailbe has been perfecting her rolling skills over the last couple of weeks. Rooney has been a big incentive for her. She loves her big brother alot and generally enjoys being near him.

I'm not sure what her incentive was this morning but when I went into her room to get her from her nap I found her tummy down. She finally figured out what to do with that arm! I feel a little bad because it took me a little while to go get her. Maybe she was tired of waiting and thought she would get out on her own.

Whatever the incentive was it worked and she's progressing even if she seemed confused by it at the time.

Proud Ailbe Keeps On Rollin'

So I have to admit I mucked up the recording of this video! For some reason I hit STOP just as Ailbe rolled kind of over. She was stopped from completing the roll by her own arm but I think it still counts as an official roll. Pretty special way to celebrate your 5th month of life (which was the same day). Just to ensure there was a milestone Ailbe's 2nd tooth reared its little head. On the bottom right next to its brother. Not quite twins.
