There was no question that when I married Mike I was marrying a great guy. He treated me well, learned to love my dog like his own, & even had a great family but throughout this pregnancy he has constantly surprised me by just how wonderful he can be. The house projects that have been in the works for 2 years he promised to get done before the baby was born. He did it & for the most part most of those projects are done(see B.D. post "Giving the People What They Want..."). Mike absolutely hates shopping for non-electronic items, and especially hates going to Ikea, but shopped like a trooper when we had to buy baby furniture. He didn't complain once when we spent 4 hours trying to do our baby registry (see Archives for a recount of that horror), got the nursery done in record time, with minimal amounts of frustration, even though I was stressing out about the timeline and had the added project of finishing yet more baseboards & putting the new furniture together. He went to every birthing class, openly participated & when I was wincing @ birthing films he was taking notes!
Now, as I am in the last stages of pregnancy, this bathroom debacle happens & he has been working on it morning & night trying to make sure it is ready before the baby shower & w/only limited time without a toilet (I would also like to thank Dana for committing himself to the effort this weekend). Not only is he doing this but he has taken on daily walks for Courage & Rocco, making dinner a good portion of the time & readily giving up more of the bed to my expanding stomach. Plus, when I'm crying about how big I'm getting, he's there to make me feel better, tells me he thinks I'm beautiful and means it.
There is so much more but I don't want to embarrass him too much. It's not mentioned much in the blog postings but I wanted to let him know how much I appreciate everything he does/is doing and how much I love him.
Love,
Q

Mike has been a great guy for as long as I can remember (which goes back as far as he does), but I think you bring out the best in him. And in the words of Mrs. Dabney, when someone complimented her on her new hairdo: "how kind of y'all to notice." As you may have guessed, Mrs. Dabney was from Texas.....
Mike is the guy I would have picked for Susie had she let me do the picking. There is nothing better than to see your child loved and respected by his or her partner. Mike is a great addition to our family and a heck of a poker player!
BTW, Susie had good roll models for the picking since her brothers and sister have done outstanding jobs in their choices also.
