Ailbe has been perfecting her rolling skills over the last couple of weeks. Rooney has been a big incentive for her. She loves her big brother alot and generally enjoys being near him.
I'm not sure what her incentive was this morning but when I went into her room to get her from her nap I found her tummy down. She finally figured out what to do with that arm! I feel a little bad because it took me a little while to go get her. Maybe she was tired of waiting and thought she would get out on her own.
Whatever the incentive was it worked and she's progressing even if she seemed confused by it at the time.
At 26 weeks pregnant I started this blog for my son Rooney. The plan was to document feelings, body changes and eventually to share pictures of our son with friends and family. 4 years later, with the addition of Rooney's little sister, Ailbe, we are now sharing the lives of our 2 kiddos. I'm not sure how long this blog will go on for but as long as people are reading we'll keep posting.

Pretend Batman Was In Trouble and the Doggy Saved Him...
It's hard to believe that winter is just ending. Since January we have already had several park playdates and Rooney is getting to start riding the bike he got for Christmas. We intentionally got his bike a little big to allow for growth. We thought he would not be able to ride it for several months. It is working out fine but he does have to go on his tippy toes to stand over the frame. He's still a little nervous riding it but I've been explaining to him that he needs to learn how to fall because he'll most likely be doing alot of it. At least he has safety gear. I remember my bike didn't have brakes on the pedals so I had to jump off and ditch the bike or stop it Fred Flinstone-style. Tuck and roll my parents would shout.
Tuck and roll!

Rooney vs Dr. McDonald
The visit went well and Rooney has once again secured a spot in the "No Cavity Club". He also got x-rays done and we were able to see the adult teeth poised to breakthrough one of these days. Man is Rooney going to go through a hell of an awkward stage. Those adult teeth looked absolutely huge. The hygenist even acknowledged their enormity. Looks like he got the worst of mom and dads teeth and he will inevitably make someone a very comfortable living.
Worst comes to worst he has charm and its amazing what that can get people through.

Code Name: Choppers
Ailbe is still growing. Funny how kids do that. On February 18th she had her 4 month check up. It was confirmed what I was suspecting. She is growing taller and thinning out. At 4 months she measured 25" and weighed 14lbs 10oz. She now in the 75% for both. At 2 months she was 85% for weight. She just gets cuter everyday. Just when you think they can't get any cuter BAM they get cuter. I remember this happening with Rooney too.
Last night something else I was suspecting was also confirmed...Ailbe's first tooth broke through. Bottom right. Time to break out the steak. She's been great through the teething so far. Not too fussy and alot of drool. She uses her hand as a teething toy mostly.
Rooney is still doing great with his activities. He recently passed the preschool level in swimming lessons and is now in youth level 2. There are only 5 levels then it goes to adult. April is in class with him right now. They look so small next to the 3 other boys in the class. Their teachers are also male which is not sitting well with April. It's a first for Rooney and I thought it was kind of cool. For April though, despite having a good time each week, she just feels she's having a hard time "fitting in". Vala and I get a good laugh out of that. Hopefully I'll get Rooney signed up this week for Swim Team at the country club. It starts in April and lasts the summer. He's been really interested in getting medals so hopefully he can earn something.
This post was a trial of my new mobile blogging. Hopefully there aren't too many typos. I have a few more videos and pics to add so fingers crossed I can do that soon!
