Walk Like A Man

Rooney has been doing a little vacationing. Grandma and Grandpa Wade came out for a visit, Aunt Kim was having her bridal shower and there was a whole lot of going out to dinner.

Roonster had a great time hanging out with his extended family and can't wait to visit Grandma & Grandpa on Bainbridge Island! Alot of stuff happened while Grandma and Grandpa (or Mom and Dad) were out, but for some reason the only pictures we took were when we went to Fado & had beers!

Not that he had to, but I think my sweet baby charmed his grandparents all over again.

Most days are pretty exciting when you have a baby (although other people may disagree when you start telling stories), for instance, yesterday Rooney & I met 2 visitors from Moscow and last night/today Rooney took his first steps.

Man, those tourists were pretty cool. Rooney's first steps were pretty cool too but after the Moscowites, it seemed pretty pedestrian. I'm just kidding of course. I was beside myself this morning! I think I scared him with my enthusiasm!

Mike still doesn't believe it, because he hasn't seen it. But he didn't believe Rooney got his 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th tooth either.

(Although I did not actually capture the 1st steps, I did capture Rooney's ridiculously cute sticking up hair)

We had a great time visiting Rooney last week - and the rest of you too, of course. He was a sweetheart, putting up with a lot of traveling - by car, boat or stroller - so cheerfully. Sorry we missed his first steps by just a few days, but we thought it was going to happen soon. He was pulling himself up and walking around furniture so easily, then every so often he would look in another direction as if he wanted to go there, and you could see in his eyes that he was thinking, "can I just walk over there?" But then he'd get down and quickly crawl over. Glad to hear he's now decided "yes I can walk over there!"

I'm sorry I missed his first steps, and it was clear he was very close when I was there too. Now cover the doorknobs!

He's got his daddy's hairline, let's hope he also has his daddy's lack of cowlicks, despite is ridiculously cute sticking-up hair. (It doesn't look like Mike has cowlicks anyway.)

Wow, walking already! A mixed blessing I imagine. :-)

Congrats,
The Kernel
(sorry Mike, I don't think you ever put it in writing, so I get to spell it however I want!)
