October Wrap-Up

It's been over two weeks since Ailbe's been born. So far Mike and I have established a schedule for her feedings but unfortunately it looks like that might all get thrown out the window once he goes back to work. Ailbe has been a pretty great baby so far, almost a bit boring. She sleeps most of the day except when she's eating and wakes up about twice a night. Not that we're complaining. The biggest problems have really been with Rooney. He has been getting up several times a night, most nights, for various reasons. Last night he got up once legitamitely to use the bathroom (not sure why he couldn't use his though) and then twice more just to have me put him back to bed I think. Maybe he missed his momma while he was sleeping.

Grandma and Grandpa Wade have been out here since late October to help us with Rooney. He is so active and needs to be kept busy that we thought it would be really helpful to have someone here to help with that. Mike and I didn't really know how I would be feeling after this c-section with being on bedrest for so long and with it being the second. So far I've been feeling pretty good. The first week was of course the hardest, and I didn't get to lay around as much as I would have liked. The second week I felt better and could move around alot more easily. If I'm out and about too much I will have some discomfort but that's what I have pain meds for, right?

I think that Rooney was/is having a small issue with mom being in the hospital and being gone so much the last couple of months. By the time Grandma and Grandpa Wade arrived he was getting pretty clingy to Mike and I. They've been great with taking him places most days. Sometimes Rooney is concerned if Mike and I will be home when he gets home but he's been going to alot of fun places like Chuck E. Cheese, Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle Aquarium, the pumpkin patch and some Active Moms and Tots events. Thankfully Roon has still been able to see some of his buds during this time as well.

Halloween was a lot of fun for us. We were somewhat unprepared as we were still carving pumpkins on Halloween and only decorating the house the night before but trick or treating could hardly be un-fun and Roon's buds Charlie, Clara and Felix came over to trick or treat with him. What a great night! Costumes, candy, buds and getting to go outside after dark! There may have been a few meltdowns that night but it was all worth it.

Oops! Sorry I couldn't keep you down more when I was there. I love the picture of Rooney and Dad raking. I posted some cute pics of Rooney and his Dad working in the back yard on FB also.

Ailbe makes a perfectly charming pumpkin!

Rooney has totally warmed up to Gpa and Gma since we got here. We've been having a ball playing, eating, visiting the zoo, aquarium, pumpkin patch, cousin Davy, etc. and going to karate, preschool, swimming classes... He's been a real sweety. He and Gpa think their knock knock jokes are hilarious. Gma can always get a rise out of Rooney by claiming to be "Spider Grandma" and not just plain old Grandma as Rooney says. We love you Rooney and Ailbe. SGma
