Speaking of carseats...hee hee hee... Mike and I spent some amount of time and a great deal of frustration trying to install Rooney's new car seat in my car. We just couldn't seem to get it tight enough. I believe leveling is the key but we gave up before I could try. Ugh that carseat is very lucky it was so expensive (by the way I'm sure it was US, not the car seat, because this model is "easy to install"). Turns out we may not really have to worry about it for a little bit...once I took the Bundle Me out of Rooney's old carseat he suddenly had a lot more room! Egads! Now he fits fine in it. I guess we can use this extra time to figure out how to install the easy to install new carseat.

Finally, after the frustration of the "carseat debacle" we decided to do something easy & lower the mattress in Rooney's crib. Let me tell you how I pictured this being done. Mike would lay on his back & get underneath crib. I thought he would loosen some wing nuts, drop the mattress down & then retighten wing nuts. Quick and snappy! I'm sure you know that this was not the case. I'll spare you the gory details but let's just say the bumper and our exercise ball have been maimed or were DOA. Rooney was able to pull down his mobile and if I actually took a few seconds to think about it, I probably would have just taken down the mobile.

I hope...
we're screwed.

I know all of you are wondering how much of Rooney's amazing feats come from his mother's side, so here are the stats gathered in Susie's first year:
7 lbs, 5.5 oz and 21 inches at birth
14 lbs. 8 oz at 19 weeks (no height listed, I guess they didn't have tape measures back then).
20 lbs 14 oz at 40 weeks.
Here's the really impressive stuff:
1st smile - 3 weeks
1st laugh - 10 weeks
