Not Just A One Trick Pony

In the week since I posted Rooney has visited alot of family and done many things. Rooney's Grandma and Grandpa Wade came to visit. He took them to Baby Fun @ the public library, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and the Microsoft Visitor Center/Museum. Rooney thought that was great and fun but he seemed to enjoy most when Grandpa would take him flying and his long walks with Grandma where they would have very deep, philosophical conversations.

In addition to Grandma and Grandpa Wade, Rooney also visited with Uncle Dan, Aunt Kim, Uncle Mark & Aunt Eileen. As you can see Uncle Mark was pretty taken with Roonster, but can you blame him? Rooney had a good time but he must confess, he slept through half of it. Not to say that he was bored. It's alot of work being a baby. Plus, Rooney was conserving his energy for what would become his official new trick...

Sadly, right after Grandma and Grandpa left, Rooney decided to start rolling over. If you think you remember from previous posts that I have already written about this, you would be correct. However what makes this different or (should I say) makes this official now is that he can roll over from either position- from tummy to back or from back to tummy. His arm still gets in the way every now & then (and haven't we all been tempted to cut an arm off for the same reason?) but he's been practicing all day and persevering.

I have to admit, he looks a lot like a Wade, especially in the pic with Gma and Pa Wade. He looks like Susie when she was a baby too, so I guess Susie looks like a Wade as well!

Interesting...my first comment on seeing Rooney again was how much he looks like Susan. Actually, I think I see some of Cuyler in his face. He does look somewhat like his daddy did when he was that age. Rooney's eye color and the shape of his face are quite a bit different from Mike's at that age, but the darkness of his eyes and his hairline and his nose are similar.

I was talking to his great grandma Wade this afternoon and she told me that great grandpa Wade (who shares Rooney's birthday)had a small pink birthmark on the back of his neck just barely into his hairline. Wow. And I thought Rooney inherited that from me.

I think Rooney's behavior reminds me of Mike at that age even more than his appearance. It's all of the laughing, cooing and energy that he puts into everything. He is so much fun.

Of course, we're flattered to hear that we look like Susan. She not only looks like a Wade, she is one.
